ACS Hosting

ACS provides hosting services for a variety of websites. Customers who wish to have their site hosted will abide by the following agreement:

1. Customers using ACS internet service for connection to the internet are allotted 5 megs of space to build their own free web site. Sites that exceed this limit will be subject to hosting charges as outlined in the hosting fees section.

2. It is the responsibility of the customer to be familiar with procedures for editing their website, or contracting someone to do the editing for them. It is between the customer and their website manager (webmaster) to agree on the terms and conditions surrounding editing schedules, fees, content, etc. Currently ACS only supports Microsoft Front Page 98, Microsoft Front Page 2000, 2002 and ftp services for authoring a website. After the website is in place, the customer will be responsible for uploading or deleting content to the site.

3. Only customers with a valid account with ACS will be allowed access to editing any web pages contained on servers owned by ACS.

4. ACS does not guarantee compatibility with other web page authoring software, and any inquiries or technical problems with said software should be referred to the developer of said software through their technical support channels.

5. ACS provides hosting with the understanding that no content that could be construed as slanderous, libelous, scandalous, pornographic, or extremely violent will be allowed. ACS assumes no liability for any customer whose website contains any such content which may violate state or local laws.

6. ACS provides technical support for a site to the degree that one or more servers will be maintained to provide the maximum amount of access time possible. In the event of power failure, or routine maintenance such as periodic upgrades, the customer must allow sufficient time for a server to come back online. The time necessary for maintenance will be determined solely by ACS.

7. ACS provides a designated location for the content of a customer's site, and if a professional package is decided upon, an IP address will be designated for the site, as well as the customer registering a domain name. The customer assumes all responsibility for the promotion of their site. This does not include the practice of spamming, however. Any customers deemed to be using this method will be contacted, and a request to cease all spamming activity will be made. Continued offenses will be dealt with in the appropriate manner as determined by ACS.

Businesses or individuals needing a professional, hosted site with ACS can have one started up with the following:

Registration of a domain name. To buy the rights to a dot-com, dot-org, etc., it is suggested that you go to Directnic and see what's available. The usual cost is about $15 a year to register a name.

Once again, the individual or business has the option of building their own or having it custom-made for a fee, depending upon their specific needs. The option to learn how to build and maintain your own site is always available. If tutoring is needed, then an hourly fee will be assessed for instruction in general website building.
